Vitamin B17

Vitamin B17 is also known as “amygdalin” and “laetrile” doe to its main components of two glucose molecules extracted from apricot seeds and almonds. Even though there are not enough conclusive data to label vitamin B17 as a cancer cure, some people have claimed that eating several apricot seeds at each meal will actually prevent cancer development. This vitamin also plays a major role in the general health of the body and our well being as a whole.

Vitamin B17 appears in abundance in untamed nature. There are a lot of foods that have been domesticated still contain the vitamin B17 in that part not eaten by modern man, such as the seeds in apricots. As the results, evaluation of some common fruits that contain the vitamin B17 are blackberry, choke cherry, cranberry, elderberry, mulberry and hukleberry. It also comes in some seeds and beans like apricot seed, apple seeds, cherry seed, peach seed, pear seed, plum seed, cashew nuts, bitter almond, macadamia, fava beans, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, mung seeds and green pea.

Since apricot seed are not locally available in regular stores, Vitamin B17 in its raw form is not readily available. It has also been related to the treatment of cancer whereby tests have shown tremendous deterioration of cancer-related cells after completion of treatment using this nutritional supplement.

The laetrile was discovered in 1830. But this vitamin B17 does not have a Recommended Dietary Allowance. Meanwhile, if you are considering taking vitamin B17, you can take some ways to increase the vitamin B17 intake. The ways you can follow to get it are : Eat often the apricot seeds or consume barley soup, Include flax in your diet, and also always take a B17 supplement while eating also foods rich in vitamin C, other B vitamins, vitamin A, manganese, magnesium, selenium, and zinc. Consuming foods rich in B17 will help your body absorb the vitamin B17 more efficiently.
